The winning team will receive the opportunity for a private audience with a Parkinson Canada funded researcher (either by phone, skype or in-person depending on location).

Register online for Parkinson SuperWalk and keep sending out emails through your Fundraising Centre! For every 5 emails you send through your Fundraising Centre, you will receive one ballot for a chance to win a $500 Roots Gift Card.

Our 2017 contest runs July 2-August 1, 2017. The entry form will be available during that period. In keeping with our Everyday Heroes, Extraordinary Hope theme we’re continuing to offer our ‘Everyday Heroes’ contest as part of Parkinson SuperWalk this year. This year, we’re naming a new ‘National Hero’. The person you nominate has a chance to lead their local walk as our Parkinson SuperWalk National Hero for 2017! Click to access the nomination form.

SuperWalker of the Year

Congratulations to Marc Pittet of Winnipeg

As noted in his nomination, Marc has been participating in the Winnipeg walk since its inception and has raised upwards of $100,000 for the campaign over the years. Moreover, Marc is eager to lead at the Board and walk level, fundraising in honour of his father and as a motivator to others. In recent years, Marc has joined teams in Winnipeg to boost their fundraising success with his totals.

Awarded to recognize a walker whose contributions to the event, enthusiasm for SuperWalk and its goals, or fundraising success has made an outstanding contribution to their local SuperWalk. Nominated by peers through the nomination form and determined by a to-be-assembled panel.

SuperWalk Volunteer of the Year

Congratulations to Vivian Heinmiller of Peterborough

As noted in her peer nomination Vivian has been a strong presence both in Chapter activities and this past 22 years with SuperWalk. She is a dedicated team leader of the Peterborough Movers & Shakers and having stepped away from the leadership of the walk committee is eager to provide expert guidance to new volunteers and jump into any project when needed.

Awarded to recognize a walk coordinator or committee volunteer whose contributions were integral to the success of their local walk.
