Research, Education, Advocacy and Support - your donations enable us to live today better, and give us hope for the future.
I am a mover and shaker! I have Parkinson's Disease. I have had it for a long time.
I also have a very supportive family who encourage and support me every day. They, along with dear friends participate in the Superwalk as members of the Walking Runnings Team. We all look forward to our annual reunion on walk day. We remember my late brother Ted who lived a long and active life in spite of the disease. He was a Parkinson Hero who lived a life of service to family and community. He was dedicated to Scouting and to being a First Responder, and was a man of great personal courage. I am so thankful to have had him for a role model.
Currently, 25 Canadians are diagnosed daily with Parkinson's Disease. Thanks to funding donated by all our sponsors, important and critical research is progressing, creating a more hopeful outlook for those with the disease.
Education, advocacy and support are also funded through the Superwalk. The disease is complex, and most people including many medical professiionals lack understanding of the multitude of ways in which it impacts our lives. It affects not only our brains and movement but every part of our bodies and lives. Superwalk is creating a public awareness of the scope of the disease thanks to the funding you provide by supporting this event.
Thank you for cariing enough to read this, and for supporting us through the Superwalk. You make a difference and give us hope.
