Support Carrie Lamont for Parkinson SuperWalk
Thank you for taking a look at my personal page! This year, on September 16th, I will be joining everyday heroes from communities across Canada as part of the Parkinson SuperWalk.
As many of you know, three years ago I was diagnosed with YOPD (Young Onset Parkinson's Disease). My diagnosis certainly came as a shock to me since my neurologist had ruled out the disease when I first started seeing her several years ago. Unfortunately there is no hard and fast test for Parkinson's Disease, and as time progressed, so did my symptoms and my nightmare became a reality. This was a very hard time for me, but as time went on I decided to listen to the advice someone gave me: "This is not a life ender, it is merely a life changer". Well, as many of you know, the past few years of my life have, and will continue to change in many aspects. But with the support of my close friends and family, I have decided that my life will continue to be lived with this phrase in mind. This situation has shown me who I can truly count on, and I use that support to help get me through the many rough patches that life throws at all of us.
Please consider supporting the team that I have formed called Shaking Yet Stirred, because this is exactly how I feel. I may have tremors which cause me to shake (and are currently being controlled by medication), but with the help of my team mates, I am stirred to make a difference. This will be the third year that we will participate in the SuperWalk, and our team seems more determined than ever to make an impact for those affected by Parkinson's Disease, in any of its forms. There are so many new treatments on the horizon. Perhaps one day I will be able to benefit from one of these treatments. Otherwise, I am stirred to help others avoid my struggles. Feel free to join our team if you can, and walk with us on Sunday September 16th! You can contact me for more details at: email@example.com
Help me ensure Parkinson's Canada is there for Canadians living with Parkinson’s today – while funding research into better treatments and one day, a cure.
Another way to show your support for my team, is by clicking the DONATE NOW button on the right hand side of the page, above the progress meter and achievements. If you can, please help me to reach my goal this year!
Every dollar means new hope. Thank you for your support!
