On September 8, our team will be joining the largest national fundraising event for Parkinson Canada: the Parkinson SuperWalk.
Parkinson's disease is a debilitating disease that affects an increasing number of patients due to the demographic trend towards an aged population. More than 25 Canadians are diagnosed with Parkinson's every day. That's more than one person every hour.
Our lab investigates the biology of Parkinson genes using stem cells that were created from the blood of patients and healthy individuals. We make neurons and mini-brains from these stem cells to model the pathology of the disease and to develop therapies by screening thousands of molecules.
We walk to support an organization that funds innovative research to find better treatments, and one day, a cure.
Your donations can make a difference for Canadians living with Parkinson's.
