I still remember the day my son met me in our driveway after a soccer game. He asked, “What was wrong with your arm today, Dad? It wasn’t moving when you ran.”

Less than a year later I sat in a neurologist’s office and heard the diagnosis that would change my life. “It’s Parkinson’s.”

I was 40 years old.

After that, I sank into what I can only describe as “the abyss.” I had no hope whatsoever. It was a very, very bad spot to be in.

But thanks to Parkinson Canada, my story doesn’t end at the bottom of the abyss. Parkinson Canada was there to support me and they have been every day since.

A lot has happened since my diagnosis.

There’ve been bad days but there’ve also been some amazing days that I will remember forever -- I fell in love and got married to a wonderful woman. And I’ve been blessed to be able to see my kids grow into happy, productive adults.

And all that time, I’ve never forgotten the promise I made to them right from the start. I promised them that I’d do anything and everything I could so that they won’t have to go through what I am.

Today, you can make a difference. If you make a donation to Parkinson Canada, it will be tripled.

You’ll be funding innovative research into better treatments and one day a cure. Your gift will also go to supporting people fighting Parkinson’s right now.

Will you help me keep my promise?
