Parkinson Canada SuperWalk is a community. Every September, Canadians from coast-to-coast walk to demonstrate our united purpose supporting a better life for people with Parkinson’s today, a world without Parkinson’s tomorrow.

Walks takes place Your Way, in Your Local Community and while no two walks are alike, our shared efforts champion the same mission: finding a cure.

Together our community has raised over $40 million to fuel research, support tools, education and advocacy, No Matter What.

Are there any large in-person walks this year in my city/town?

Walks will take place your way, in your local community, adhering to public health guidelines and safety protocols in your respective province. While we won’t have large In-person gatherings, we hope you’ll enjoy seeing many “bubble” or “pod” walks in your local city/town, directly following our virtual opening ceremony. We may be physically distanced, but we are certainly together in spirit, No Matter What.

What is a Walk In a Box and how do I get one?

Walk In a Box is a toolkit of resources to make your walk personal, fun and successful. It includes everything you need to create a unique DIY SuperWalk including: promotional items, swag, coaching tips and resources, Parkinson Canada information pamphlets, shareable social graphics, photos, videos and more.

The digital WIAB toolkit is available to all registrants in the Tools section of our website. The standard physical WIAB toolkit is available to walkers who request one during registration, and the premium WIAB toolkit is available to participants who raise a minimum fundraising amount. Kits are shipped directly to your home before walk day.

Where could I find more detailed information about a specific walk location?

What impact does my donation make?

In short, a truly significant one. Parkinson Canada SuperWalk makes up a big part of Parkinson Canada's overall annual fundraising and is the only nationwide event in support of Canadians living with Parkinson's. Your gift has a direct impact on quality of life for Canadians living with Parkinson's through research, advocacy and support. What does being a SuperStar Walker mean?

SuperStar Walkers are fundraisers who go above and beyond! SuperStars contribute $1000 in total funds raised and are celebrated annually with a commemorative hat and pin as an acknowledgement of their extraordinary efforts.

If I registered last year, do I need to register again this year?

Yes. Our online fundraising system resets every year. The good news is, if you've participated before the registration process is very straightforward, and your donors will be tracked for the new year's event. After choosing your walk location and walker type (individual, team captain or team member), be sure to choose the returning walker option and use your previous username and password to reactivate your account. If you don't remember one or the other, you can reach us at superwalk@parkinson.ca for support.

Where can I sign up to volunteer for SuperWalk?

Please email your interest to superwalk@parkinson.ca with the Subject Line VOLUNTEER or call 1-800-565-3000 and a team member will reach out if we have any current opportunities available.

When do I get my SuperWalk donation receipt?

If you donated online, you should receive your tax receipt automatically. Please check your donation confirmation message for an attachment. Cash and cheque receipts take a little while longer to process. Before the walk, expect to receive a receipt within 2-6 weeks of your donation. If your donation was submitted on walk weekend, it is tracked with all the pledge forms from across Canada. We try to issue receipts as quick as possible, but due to high volume it may be delayed. If we can help track down a missing receipt for either an online or cash or cheque gift, please us know.

How do I reset my password?

You can reset your password by providing your username and email address on this page. Or, you can phone or email us with your username, or e-mail and we'll be happy to help you reset it.

Are pets allowed?

It’s your walk, your way! Pets are welcome and encouraged!

Is there a registration fee?

There is no registration fee for Parkinson Canada SuperWalk. Participants who raise a minimum fundraising amount qualify for a physical Walk In a Box kit. Fundraisers who raise $250 or more qualify for our walker recognition program, which includes exclusive SuperWalk apparel.

How and where do I submit my cash and other SuperWalk donations?

Making a donation online is the simplest and most efficient way to donate. If you have cash to submit, we encourage you to send one cheque to cover all cash gifts, or call to 800-565-3000 to pay by credit card. To submit cheques, you can mail a pledge form containing complete donor information to Attn: SuperWalk at: Parkinson Canada, 316-4211 Yonge St., Toronto, ON, M2P 2A9. Please be sure you also indicate your own information so we know who to attribute the donation to. Offline donations may take up to 6 weeks to process and may not reflect on your fundraising thermometer

How can I enter offline donations onto my personal page?

We have disabled the feature of entering offline donations from participant centres this year to better streamline the post-walk reconciliation process and get your totals and recognition incentives to you sooner. We understand that participants get excited to see their thermometers grow, and it is a useful tool to encourage your network to make a final donation and get you to your goal. We recommend that you submit your offline pledges to our office as soon as you receive them for the quickest possible processing. Once they have been confirmed as received, your thermometer will be updated to reflect your current total. This will greatly help us avoid reconciliation discrepancies. Thank you for your understanding.

This year, you can fill out our pledge form, deposit any cash to your bank, and write us one cheque for that amount. Cheques can be made out to Parkinson Canada and mail out to 316-4211 Yonge St Toronto ON M2P2A9. Once processed by us, we then enter it into your online campaign.

When is the last date to make SuperWalk donations?

You can donate to Parkinson Canada SuperWalk until December 31. The website does close for a short period at year end, re-opening on the following year's launch date. The deadline to qualify for recognition incentives is September 30th.
