Congratulations, Canada!
Thanks to the thousands of Parkinson Canada SuperWalk participants, donors, and volunteers, more than $1.4 million was raised as of October 31st!
Together we walk
Parkinson Canada SuperWalk is our chance to come together. A chance to help all Canadians living with Parkinson's. A chance to show that a diagnosis doesn't stop us from living.
It impacts everyone differently and effects entire families who must cope with things being outside of their control. If you or someone you know has Parkinson’s this is something you know well, and you don’t let obstacles stand in your way.
One thing constant in the Parkinson’s journey is change and Coronavirus (COVID-19) has meant change for a lot of us. You adapt, and we adapt with you. Learn all the important ways that SuperWalk is changing to support you better.
This summer, we're focusing on keeping Canadians moving through Parkinson Canada SuperWalk: The Movement. We may not walk together in September but we will walk united. Until then, we challenge you to stay active and well. SuperWalk: The Movement focuses on achieving 150 minutes of activity a week, per CSEP guidelines. Review SuperWalk: The Movement resources to help you stay active and earn exclusive opportunities this summer.
Our message for participants this year is simple. We walk together on the path to end Parkinson's: No Matter What.
Ralph Richardson: Walking No Matter What
Ralph has battled Parkinson's disease now for over 5 years, and as he is approaching 80 years old is a fighter and so determined. He has good and bad days, but serves as in inspiration as he keeps moving on days when I am sure it would be easier to give up and stay in bed. Ralph started walking laps in his driveway during the COVID-19 Crisis, as other avenues used in the past were not available.
What started as a small challenge his turned into a personal mission. He'll be doing laps 100 days straight and has already surpassed his original $10,000 fundraising goal.
Go Ralph Go!
What is SuperWalk?
Find a Walk
Join our movement of more than 80 communities and 10,000 participants across Canada.
Parkinson Canada SuperWalk takes place each September. Across the country, walkers, donors and volunteers band together to show one another they are not alone in standing up to Parkinson's.
Since 1990, walkers like you have raised more than $41 Million (including $2.5 Million in 2019) to support a better life today for Canadians living with Parkinson's, a world without Parkinson's tomorrow.

Josephine Jollymore: National Hero
In communities all across Canada we know that there are people living with or affected by Parkinson’s whose everyday heroism is an example to others. Since 2016, we've hosted our Everyday Heroes, Extraordinary Hope contest in acknowledgment of this.
Last year’s winner was Josephine Jollymore of New Glasgow, Nova Scotia.
Selflessly working to improve the lives of people going through the pain and struggle of Parkinson’s disease, Josephine has always been on call 24/7. A big hearted volunteer, she has led efforts with the Pictou/New Glasgow Chapter of Parkinson Canada since 2003, despite losing her husband Gordon to Parkinson’s in 2005. She has been an inspiration to me, to all of us in the group, and inspires be there for one another, just as she has always done.
