7th Annual Fundraising Tournament - June 8, 2023

Chipping in for Parkinson's is an annual golf tournament that began as the dream of Jim Peters and his daughter Rebecca after Jim was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in 2009.

The father-daughter team began the tournament in 2016 with cautious optimism, hoping to get 50 people out and raise around $5,000. The first tournament far surpassed that expectation with 115 golfers raising $14,000 that first year. The tournament has continued to grow and to date has raised over $120,000 for people living with Parkinson's.

A special thanks to Bridges Golf Course, our sponsor from day one, and Paul Lehingrat of Scotia Wealth Management for their generous support.

How does it work?

The tournament is a best ball, 9-hole shotgun game that aims to be inclusive and family friendly. Sponsorships cover the cost of the tournament itself, providing dinner, and prizes for our golfers. Golfers register in teams, and compete with each other for the opportunity to win prizes and to raise the most in donations. Teams that raise more than $500 will be entered to win a grand prize. The bulk of the funds raised comes from teams collecting pledges. Any surplus from our sponsorships is also donated to projects supporting People living with Parkinson's.

Prizes

Once again we are offering some exciting prizes and the ever popular $10,000 putt competition where one participant will attempt a putt for the $10,000 grand prize!

1. 4 box seats at a Winnipeg Jets regular season NHL game

2. 4 seats at the 2023 Banjo Bowl

3. A Bridges Golf Package

4. A Thermea Spa Package
