On May 20th 2016 I will ride for 3 days and 700 miles by bicycle from Oceanside pier CA to the rim of the Grand Canyon in support of Parkinson Canada.
The fundraiser ride is honor of my Mum, Joan Stokes who passed away this Christmas. As a toddler Mum transported me everywhere by bike, and later chaperoned me as I powered myself on two-wheels. I was 40 before I broke her cycling distance record. It seems only fitting that I use a bicycle to raise money on her behalf.
Mum lived in the tightening grip of Parkinson's disease for over 15 years. I created this fundraising page to benefit Parkinson Canada, and their mission to make life better for Canadian's suffering with Parkinson’s.
I have set a personal challenge of raising a minimum of $5,000 in total. Please make a donation on my behalf. No matter what you can afford, every dollar counts! If you could also share this with your friends that would be brilliant! Together we can make a difference!
Parkinson Canada is focused on what people with Parkinson’s need today. Your support allows us to help people live their best lives now until there is a tomorrow without Parkinson’s.
Please join me in support of Canadians living with Parkinson’s by making a donation today.
THANK YOU so much for your support!
