I am participating in a community fundraising effort in support of Parkinson Canada and the Muhtadi International Drum Festival.
We are a group of drummers committed to keeping the beat and playing in the spirit of drum beats connecting communities, with a goal of making a difference for the Parkinson Community as well.
On a personal note, my mother Ruth had Parkinsons. It complicated her difficulties with early onset Dementia. It was difficult seeing the woman who sewed my beautiful wedding dress and cheerfully made crafts, with and in support of seniors, lose her ability to do so. One thing she did hold onto until the end was her love of music (including drumming!).
Together, we can raise funds for research, education and support services to benefit more than 100,000 Canadians living with Parkinson’s. Research into the causes of Parkinson’s will help find better treatments and one day, a cure.
Please donate to our efforts, every dollar means new hope.
