I'm taking part in the Growling Beaver / Pedaling for Parkinsons Ride October 5th to raise money for Parkinson Canada. Parkinson's is the fastest growing neurological disorder in the world. There is no cure.
In 2019, at the age of 50 – my wife Sarah was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. To say that the news was a shock is an understatement.
Although we’ve had our share of low moments since the diagnoses – we continue to live life to the fullest and have tried to remain upbeat and as positive as possible. I wish PD had not entered our lives - but we no longer see it as the enemy. Cycling continues to be a therapeutic outlet - being on a bike feels almost 'normal" for Sarah. And its something we can do together. So, we ride!
