Dear Friend,
On Saturday October 5, 2024 I completed the 40Km bike ride to support Parkinson's research. Actually it was 45km as i missed a turn making my ride longer.
I raised $14,697.99 which was one of the top amounts raised and that was without corporate sponsorships.
I have to thank each one of you from the bottom of my heart, for supporting me in this cause. This was a team effort.
Through this fundraising campaign i came to realize that my fight against Parkinson's is not left to me alone, Your support has been overwhelming not only monetarily but also through your moral support and kind words.
Attached is a montage from yesterday's ride.
Thanks again.
Claudio

This is my first time I'm taking part in the Growling Beaver to raise money for Parkinson Canada, which will empower the Parkinson's community through tailored support, innovative research and raising the voice of all those impacted by Parkinson's.
More than 100,000 Canadians live with Parkinson's, a number expected to increase substantially in the coming years, with 30 Canadians diagnosed each day.
Parkinson's is a disease that affects not only individuals but also families, friends and care partners who come together to manage the realities of Parkinson's.
Parkinson's is the fastest growing neurological disorder in the world. In the brain, nerves exchange signals through dopamine, a chemical that controls movement. Parkinson's symptoms occur when cells that produce dopamine die. Currently, there is no cure, and the need is only increasing. By 2031, the number of people living with Parkinson's in Canada will more than double. The support you provide makes a positive impact: improving the quality of life for people living with Parkinson's disease as well as finding a cure.
Since i was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 2015 i have experienced many of the symptoms that come from the disease or from the medication. At times it can be very frustrating but i am hoping that a cure can be found, hopefully in my lifetime.
Since i have a love for sports and exercise it is fitting that I participate in thibs ike ride. Hope you can help in this fight against Parkinson's.
