I'm taking part in the Growling Beaver to raise money for Parkinson Canada, which will empower the Parkinson's community through tailored support, innovative research and raising the voice of all those impacted by Parkinson's.
Not only is this a worthy cause, but it is a personal challenge for me. I'll be doing this ride for the third time, each time the 100K gravel route. The first time I did it was the first year of the event back in 2015. The second time was in 2021, and what surprised me was the the founder of the event, Evan Siddall, remembered me from years ago. That year was the last time that he said he would be able to ride due to the progress of his disease.
I am dedicating my ride to Evan and the many others who are suffering from this terrible disease.
