SEEKING YOUR SUPPORT FOR PARKINSONS SUPER WALK
It would be great if you could be kind enough to support me again as you have in the past. To those who are receiving this letter for the first time, I would appreciate your support for the National Walk. This is the only major fundraiser the Parkinson Society presents to the public.
Life is still very manageable for me, and maybe I'll be one of the lucky ones to not be plagued with the many symptoms of PD, but that is no guarantee that status quo will reign. Perhaps you may not know this, my oldest sister, Jean also had PD, and her battle with it became quite overwhelming. Consequently, I feel that I'm honoring her as part of my dedication to the SuperWalk. If you cannot make a financial commitment at this time, perhaps you could join me in the walk or make a donation at a later time.
Take care, and lots of love and good wishes to all of you.
Dear friends and family,
This September I will join 14,000 Canadians who take part in the Parkinson SuperWalk fundraiser event. It will take place in Bracebridge. Together we raise funds for education and support services, not only for people with Parkinson's, but also for their caregivers and family members too in communities across Canada. This annual event also raises funds for research into the causes of Parkinson Disease. Last year funds raised by the Bracbridge members were personally accepted by one of many research scientists, and that was a special meeting for us.
Pa-rkinson's, better treatments and one day, a cure. When you walk with me or sponsor me, you bring us closer to this year's goal of $3 million. Every dollar means new hope. Thank you!
