Support Carla Tomas for Parkinson SuperWalk
Everyday Heroes. Extraordinary Hope.
Thanks for taking a look at my personal page.
This September, I’m joining everyday heroes from communities across Canada as part of Parkinson SuperWalk.
I’d like to tell you why:
I am very lucky to have grown up with an amazingly devoted Uncle. Even as a handsome bachelor, he spent endless weekends with my sister and I. He took us to the movies, patiently played charades and Scrabble for hours, and made sure we had the latest and greatest (including the original nintendo, what!). And even when he married my amazing Aunt and his own wonderful children came along, he continued to make sure we were part of the fun. We had consant sleepovers, shopping trips and visits to Miniture Village. Even now, while he deals with Parkinson's, he continues to be one of the most positive, supportive and loving people I've ever met. I'm grateful he's my Uncle every day. I'm walking for him, because I want there to be a day where wonderful people like my Uncle do not have to deal with this disease.
The need for education and financial support for Parkinson's research is only increasing. More than 25 Canadians are diagnosed with Parkinson's every day; more than one person every hour. By 2031, the number of people living with Parkinson’s in Canada will more than double.
Your donation fuels better health outcomes for Canadians living with Parkinson's today, and it supports the Parkinson Canada Research Program that works with Canada's brightest researchers to find the next big breakthroughs in treatment.

Every dollar means new hope. Thank you!
