Support Al's Pals for Parkinson SuperWalk
Everyday Heroes. Extraordinary Hope.
Thanks for taking a look at my personal page. On September 8th, our family and friends will be joining us and everyday heroes from communities across Canada as part of Parkinson SuperWalk. I’d like to tell you why, and what your donation will do.
Please take a few moments to consider how your life might change if you were diagnosed with a degenerative disorder. A disease that is not deadly, but over time, the debilitating symptoms will worsen and for which there is currently no cure.
Parkinson [PD] is one of those diseases. I was diagnosed with PD over 10 years ago. Over these years my life has changed, but is certainly not over. Each day I try to challenge myself to experience the best day possible. Some days are challenging, but I always find new ways to make the most of it.
Many people with PD continue to live productive lives for years, through treatment of the challenging symptoms of this disease. Thanks to the many volunteers and professionals who work tirelessly to create and implement the best therapeutic programs available.
During this past year I proceeded with “Deep Brain Stimulation” (DBS) surgery. The surgery went exceptionally well, but what we did not understand at the time, was how complicated the process is to titrate the neuro-transmitter stimulation with medications. We are very grateful to our team of doctors that are working with us to find the right combination.
My team [Al’s Pals] will be walking at the Vaughan Civic Centre in York Region and we need your support!
How can you help?
We are pushing our goal this year to raise $8,000 and help make a difference in the lives of all those affected by Parkinson’s today.
