The PD Gardener 2019 Parkinson SuperWalk page
Welcome to The PD Gardener (Stan Marshall) Parkinson SuperWalk page!
I am a Person with Parkinson's (PwP) and on Saturday September 7, 2019 I will be walking with my team, "The PD Gardener," in Parkinson SuperWalk Ottawa. I would be thrilled if you would sponsor me. Just click the "Donate Now" button on this page to make a quick and easy online contribution.
The walk raises funds for a) research into the causes of Parkinson's disease; b) better treatments for those living with Parkinson's; c) education and awareness programs; and d) advocacy for health policies and services which enhance quality of life for Persons with Parkinson's (PwP), their caregivers and families.
Parkinson's Disease (PD) is a degenerative neurological disease for which there is no known cause and no cure. I am one of over 100,000 Canadians living with Parkinson's.
Each day 25 Canadians are newly diagnosed with Parkinson's which means that the number of Persons with Parkinson's will double in the next 13 years. And for every PwP, four others (family and friends) will be affected in a significant way bringing the number of people impacted to half a million!
Parkinson's is so much more than tremour; it is a nasty disease which has more motor and non-motor symptoms than you can count. I am in contact with many other PwP every week in the Ottawa area. I see first hand how Parkinson Canada puts your dollars to work.
I thank you profusely for your support!
Stan Marshall aka "The PD Gardener"
