Helping one another- it's what we do!
With a family this big, we achieve some pretty impressive results! Whether it's a family reunion or one of the legendary Cousin's Parties, the Forestell clan, and the myriad families that have joined us through marriage, can rock the world- or at least have fun trying.
So here's an opportunity to once again prove that if you mess with one of us, you get the whole family too.
Randy Wilson and I are in a fight and it's one we desperately want to win. But we need your help.
The enemy is Parkinson's Disease. A thief that doesn't just rob you once, but keeps coming back for more. While you may not have known either of us is struggling with this condition, odds are you know someone, somewhere in your life who is. Every day in Canada, 25 people are diagnosed with PD. The disease is chronic, but its effects can vary widely from person to person. Tremors, stiffness, difficulty walking, loss of balance, slurred speech, memory loss... okay, I know it sounds like Saturday night at the reunion, but this doesn't go away after a good night's sleep!
They say you don't die from PD, you die with it. Frankly, Randy and I aren't keen on either option. We'd like to see more effective treatments or even a cure. That's why we're asking for your help. On Sunday Sept. 22nd we'll be taking part in the Parkinson Canada Superwalk. Join us for the walk, send us inspirational messages, make jokes about "shaking things up"... but if you can, also consider a financial donation. The money will go to medical research into PD (of which there is much in Canada), education and outreach. Every little bit helps!
And it proves the point Randy and I have been trying to make... "You fight me, you fight my family too!"
