Gram's Making Strides
Everyday Heroes. Extraordinary Hope.
Thank you for taking a look at our team page " Gram's Making Strides". On August 31st our family will be walking again in the Parkinson SuperWalk to support our mom/gram. As you know, she was diagnosed with PSP a few years ago and continues to live as our hero with this disease every day.
PSP or Progressive Supernuclear Palsy is a similar condition to Parkinson's that was first diagnosed in 1969. Prior to that many people were thought to have Parkinson's.
Mom belongs to the local support group here in Swift Current and continues to participate in the walk.
This August, our team will be joining everyday heroes from communities across Canada as part of Parkinson SuperWalk.
As a team, we’re committed to supporting Parkinson Canada. I’d like to tell you why, and what committing to join us or visiting our personal pages and making a donation will do.
The need is only increasing. More than 25 Canadians are diagnosed with Parkinson's every day; more than one person every hour. By 2031, the number of people living with Parkinson’s in Canada will more than double. I am participating in Parkinson SuperWalk to fund the increasing need for support, advocacy and research. This is why I’m asking for your support today. More than that, we walk to show our collective support for a collective movement of people in communities across Canada looking to make a difference one step at a time.
Help me ensure Parkinson Canada is there for Canadians living with Parkinson’s today – while funding research into better treatments and one day, a cure.
Every dollar raised and every new team member means new hope. Thank you!
