Support [NAME] for Parkinson SuperWalk

Everyday Heroes. Extraordinary Hope.
Thanks for taking a look at my personal page. This September, I’m joining everyday heroes from communities across Canada as part of Parkinson SuperWalk. I’d like to tell you why, and what your donation will do.
Every year I watch my dad, Gary's health continue to deteriorate. It is hard to watch the man who seemed invincible as a child become helpless and depressed. My dad is a man who spent his life always caring for and helping others and now he suffers days without sleep, has lost his independence, and is unable devote his time to others. My dad is the man who gave endless hours to his job, his family, and friends who needed him. He actively enjoyed skiing, golfing, swimming, and biking with us as kids and was always handy fixing and building things around the house. Since being diagnosed with Parkinson's, he has slowly become unable to participate in these activities. It is heartbreaking. My dad is a strong, determined person that would never let himself give up on or miss these things unless he felt it was impossible.
Since acquiring Parkinson's, he has developed extreme insomnia from the tremors in his body making it virtually impossible to function in daily life. He now relies on my mom to dress him, perform daily activities, and to drive him places. He still maintains his caring and happy demeanor even though you can see the strain in his face.
All my family and I can do to help him is to ask you to support us as we continue our yearly commitment to raising money to fund research and awareness programs in hopes that one day my dad and other people who suffer from this terrible disease may find a cure and live normal lives again.
