2019 Parkinson SuperWalk in Memory of Mom
On September 12th, we will be holding our 8th annual Vaughan Parkinsons SuperWalk. COVID-19 has forced us to be innovative in how we will conduct a community event, but “No Matter What” we will continue to work towards our fundraising goal.
Parkinsonians have always faced their challenges with much courage; however, this year provided some additional challenges with many not receiving personal support, caregivers taxed with assisting their loved ones and limited access to services.
I must be honest and tell you that over the last few months as our family self-isolated I sometimes felt sorry for myself. This is when I would give my head a shake and remember my Mother. Her life with Parkinsons was like living in self-isolation every day, with the added challenge of getting out of bed or walking from the bedroom to the kitchen.
As you may have experienced difficulty during these unprecedented times, I do understand if you cannot assist with our fundraising efforts this year. If you are able to donate I thank you in advance, and if you cannot this year I know that you will be there for our team in spirit to help us in other ways.
With much love and light,
