Julie and Luke are running again
Yes, it's that time of year again when we ask friends to help us raise money for Parkinson's Canada, but this year, there is a twist - COVID-19. Anyway, nothing daunted, we are going to do our 5 kilometer run along the beach, some time in September. The exact date is yet to be decided.
Julie thinks this might be the last year that she can run 5K - she'll have to start walking instead in the future. We'll see. And there is a lot to run for: there are a lot of very interesting experiments taking place around the world, including research into re-purposing existing drugs that have already been approved for a variety of illnesses, and using stem cells to replace the dopamine transmitting cells that already have been lost.
Julie continues to do what she can by participating in research and trials, and of course keeps exercising every day to try and reduce the impact of the symptoms of the disease.
I will of course be accompanying Julie again, and a couple of other friends have signed up as team members.. Please consider sponsoring us this year.
