Support Henry van Ede for Parkinson SuperWalk

Everyday Heroes. Extraordinary Hope.
Thanks for taking a look at my personal page. This September, I’m once again joining everyday heroes from communities across Canada as part of Parkinson SuperWalk. I’d like to tell you why, and what your donation will do.
As you may or may not know,in 2015, my daughter Carrie was diagnosed with YOPD (Young Onset Parkinson's Disease). This diagnosis certainly came as a shock to her since her neurologist had ruled out the disease when she first started seeing her a few years earlier. Unfortunately there is no hard and fast test for Parkinson's Disease, and as time progressed, so did her symptoms, and her nightmare became a reality. October was a very hard time for her, but as time went on she decided to listen to the advice someone gave her: "This is not a life ender, it is merely a life changer". With the support of her close friends and family, she decided that her life would continue to be lived with this phrase in mind.
The Parkinson SuperWalk will be taking place in Hamilton on September 16th, and I’ll be walking for her and for more than 100,000 Canadians with Parkinson’s, as well as their care partners and family members.
Please consider supporting the team that we have formed called Shaking yet Stirred, because this is exactly how she feels. She may have tremors which cause her to shake (and are currently being controlled by medication), but with the help of her team mates, I am stirred to make a difference. There are so many new treatments on the horizon. Perhaps one day she will be able to benefit from one of these treatments. Otherwise, I am stirred to help others avoid these struggles. Together we really can make a difference.
In the next 15 years, the number of people living with Parkinson’s in Canada will more than double. I am participating in Parkinson SuperWalk to fund the increasing need for support services, education, advocacy and research. This is why I’m asking for your support today.
Help me ensure Parkinson Canada is there for Canadians living with Parkinson’s today – while funding research into better treatments and one day, a cure.

Every dollar means new hope. Thank you!
