Support Joe van Koeverden for Parkinson SuperWalk
Our Parkinson Community Stands Together: No Matter What.
Walk with me on the final stretch of my 1,000,000 Step SuperWalk Summer!
“On Saturday, Sept 12, 2020 I will be walking from our home in the north end of Peterborough to Jackson Park to reach my target of 1,000,000 Steps (approx. 750km). Leaving from my home at 8:45am, I will cross Cumberland Ave and go on the Parkway Trail for the 56 minute walk to the park. If that is too far for you to walk, join us at any point you can on the trail. We cross Hilliard at about the half waypoint. For an accessible route, take Fairbairn to Parkhill and enter at Jackson Park main entrance. Social distancing and masks recommended!”
Joe van Koeverden was diagnosed with Parkinson’s 8 years ago. Joe finds that daily walking with the support of urban walking poles, helps him slow the progress of the disease, maintain mobility and stay fit. He has been recording the distance he walks since May 1, 2020.
See you in the Jackson Park picnic area to celebrate Joe’s final step! Bring your own picnic and a donation for Parkinson Canada, SuperWalk 2020!
