The Ageless Amblers
Everyday Heroes. Extraordinary Hope.
Thanks for visiting our team page. On Saturday, September 12th, our team, The Ageless Amblers will be joining everyday heroes from communities across Canada as part of Parkinson SuperWalk. This year's walk will be very different because of the impact of Covid 19. We don't know what activity we will be doing that day but our team will be either together somehow remotely or physically doing an activity to celebrate the day.
I’d like to tell you why, and what committing to join us or visiting our personal pages and making a donation will do.
The need is only increasing. More than 25 Canadians are diagnosed with Parkinson's every day; more than one person every hour. As a person who was diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease in 2016 I have come to understand the impact of this illness not only on myself and my family but the impact on others who are progressing through its different stages. The support I have received from the team and others who can't join us has helped me in many ways in coping with the symptoms.
By 2031, the number of people living with Parkinson’s in Canada will more than double. We are participating in Parkinson SuperWalk to spread the word on the impact on individuals and their families as well as providing funding for the increasing need for support, advocacy and research. This is why I’m asking for your support today. More than that, we walk to show our collective support for a collective movement of people in communities across Canada looking to make a difference one step at a time.
Help me ensure Parkinson Canada is there for Canadians living with Parkinson’s today – while funding research into better treatments and one day, a cure.
Every dollar raised and every new team member means new hope. Thank you!
