This September, I’m joining everyday heroes from communities across Canada as part of Parkinson Canada SuperWalk. Because of COVID-19, our walk will be a virtual event instead of being in-person. While the way the event will take place on September 12 HAS changed, the need to raise funds has NOT changed. 

More than 25 Canadians are diagnosed with Parkinson's every day; more than one person every hour. By 2031, the number of people living with Parkinson’s in Canada will more than double. COVID-19 may have caused us to stop many things, but the urgent need to raise funds to meet the increasing need for support, education, advocacy, and research still exists…now more than ever.

Through my work with Parkinson Canada, I’ve met so many incredible people living with Parkinson’s, including their family and friends. During this pandemic, fundraising is still important and as a staff member I feel it’s vital if I am asking those living with Parkinson's to fundraise, that I do the same.  Nobody should have to walk this journey alone, and your donation will help ensure that the work my colleagues and I do continues, and that Parkinson Canada is there for Canadians living with Parkinson’s today – while funding research into better treatments and one day, a cure. No matter what.
