Ready, get set, go! Once again, I am asking family and friends to support me to raise funds for Parkinson's Canada. This will be my 6th year of running. Because of the pandemic, it will be a "virtual" event again, in that runners and walkers will all be racing individually, at a date and time of their choosing. Or participants can do some other activity, like dancing. It won't be as much fun as getting together in a large group. However, I am a traditionalist, so I'm sticking with a 5K run. But rest assured, I will do the whole 5K, though it will be at a slow jog (or maybe a fast walk - it will depend on how I'm doing on the day).
It's been nearly 10 years since I was diagnosed with Parkinson's. It's been a crazy ride, played out in slow motion. Sometimes I wonder ":why me?", but it hasn't been all bad. On the good side has been the never failing support from family and friends.
Over 100,000 Canadians live with Parkinson's. I am confident that there will be a cure and hopefully it will be in my lifetime. I'd really like my neurons back!
Thanks for supporting us again, I know that there are many worthwhile calls for your charitable donations. Thank you for helping.
PS, if you donate via a transfer of quoted securities, then, as well as your regular tax receipt, you also will not have to pay any Capital Gains Tax due on those securities. If you do donate via this option, let Parkinsons Canada know it is a Superwalk donation.
