Support my team, In Memory of Adrian Hatcher, for Parkinson SuperWalk 2021
Our Parkinson Community Stands Together: No Matter What.
This year, we are planning to walk with the Parkinson Community on September 11th, in Memory of Adrian.
Both Adrian and I benefited from services provided through Parkinson Canada; support groups, educational information, and research. We want to support Parkinson Canada as a way to give back. My walk and any donations support these important goals.
The walk is virtual this year. I will be walking on the paths that Adrian walked regularly, to help maintain his physical health, and to slow down the progression of Parkinson disease. Currently, being active regularly is one of the most important things people with Parkinson's can do to help manage the disease. And whether he felt like it or not, he tried to be as active as he could every day.
More than 25 Canadians are diagnosed with Parkinson's every day; more than one person every hour. That's 25 families that will be looking for information, education and support, just as we were when Adrian was diagnosed in 2016.
Also, Parkinson Canada Research Program works with Canada's brightest researchers to find the next big breakthroughs in treatment. Adrian's specialist is involved with research supported through Parkinson Canada, and research breakthroughs result in better understanding of the many challenges people with Parkinson Disease face, as well as improving treatment and creating new treatment options.
Help me ensure Parkinson Canada is there for Canadians living with Parkinson’s today – while funding research into better treatments and one day, a cure!
