Support [NAME] for Parkinson SuperWalk
Our Parkinson Community Stands Together: No Matter What.
One thing that is constant in the journey with Parkinson's is change. It is an individual condition that impacts everyone differently. My family has learned through our journey is that we need to stay flexible, and understand that there are things outside of our control. This year for the 10th year out of 11th (there was a pause last year for COVID), we are planning to walk with the Parkinson Community. I invite Friends and Family to join us at Brittania Beach at 11am on Saturday September 11th to walk in support of Parkinson's and the research needed to beat this disease. If you are interested in joining us please message me directly for details.
As most of you are aware- my dad- Rick, Opa, Uncle Rick, Dad - has had Parkinson's for over 10 years. 2021 has been particularly challenging as we navigate the next stages and understand that there will be aspects that we cannot always explain or understand. I have been humbled by the support my siblings, myself and my parents have had in particular in these last few months from friends and family alike. The Hendriks family clan is pretty amazing. If you cannot donate that is okay, my goal is also to raise awareness, I simply ask that you take time to be educated on Parkinson's by reading the below message and keeping my Dad in your thoughts. I am bias but I think he's a pretty amazing man.
Some facts about Parkinson's:
More than 25 Canadians are diagnosed with Parkinson's every day; more than one person every hour. By 2031, the number of people living with Parkinson’s in Canada will more than double.
The goal of research and advocacy is better health outcomes for Canadians living with Parkinson's today, and it supports the Parkinson Canada Research Program which works with Canada's brightest researchers to find the next big breakthroughs in treatment.
Help me ensure Parkinson Canada is there for Canadians living with Parkinson’s today – while funding research into better treatments and one day, a cure.
