The Illness
Fulfilling a destiny, it would start
An enormous shock, it would impart
A little despair in the heart
Craving a reset to restart
Distant distortion, myopic
Delving into an unsavoury topic
Upon me great change, swift and caustic
For nothing in life is ever static
No feigned attempt
Fell prey to their legendary contempt
No use to lament, I would not be exempt
For I knew what they meant
A society dystopic
Consumed with all that is optic
Resourceful to an extent
I would soon discover a strength
A preference to commune through art
Barely an audience to take part
Safely engaged, in a medium apart
A quiet pursuit. Never « a la carte »
Perhaps a little cryptic
Nevertheless authentic
Force of will, must be drastic
Best to be discreet and diplomatic
Some responses are not automatic
Effervescent healing characteristic
An energized resurgence
A soulful re-invention of thy presence
