Dear friends, Another year but so very different than all the past years!
THIS IS HUGE! This is our 11th Parkinsons Superwalk!!!
My mom has been struggling for many years with Parkinson Disease. Two brain surgeries later, 2 battery replacement surgeries. She struggles daily. From eating, to getting dressed. Every year it's a blessing to have her in our lives but we see how this disease in the background chips away at her freedom. She falls all the time and this has been a fear for us.
For those that don't know, I moved to Costa Rica and I took my mom with us. The idea of a perfect retirement is different for everyone, but for her, this is paradise. To sit on your couch and look out at the pool and palm trees everyday is perfect. To walk the beach when your legs let you, is so powerful. Connecting with the earth, knowing you are here thanks to the research that is happening daily with the Parkinson's Foundation.
We will likely not be present for the actual walk in Barrie, but we will walk the beach of Costa Rica and I hope you can cheer us on!
I appreciate everyone that has been able to support me in the past years, and I truly hope you can sponsor me once again. Every dollar counts towards a cause that has so much meaning to me!
